Cup North Returns as Manchester Coffee Festival

I use coffee as a barometer of friendship – if you like coffee, by proxy, I like you too. If you dislike this molten elixir, then, I’m sorry, we can’t be friends, so move it along… (JOKE!). 🙂

OK, now on a serious note, I am very excited to learn that this year, Cup North returns as Manchester Coffee Festival from the 5-6 November 2016. Manchester Coffee Festival will welcome an array of industry professionals, home baristas, coffee lovers and the general public from across the nation to its prime location at Victoria Warehouse in the heart of Manchester.

The name change brings only positive additions to the program as Manchester Coffee Festival presents workshops, seminars, Tamper Tantrum, coffee themed cinema, great food and a range of exhibitors from all areas of the industry.

Hannah Davies, Event Co-Founder said: “2016 has seen Cup North add a few extra strings to our bow with the Northern Barista Club, coffee training, curating the coffee area at Spin Festival and a pop-up coffee cart which means that we want to ensure that our main event doesn’t get lost in all the action. This new name will also encourage consumers outside of the speciality industry to attend and engage with Manchester Coffee Festival. Don’t worry though! We’re still the same Cup North event with all of the usual activities for trade and consumers alike to enjoy!”

Due to the success of last year, key sponsor Cimbali has returned to bring back Tamper Tantrum, who have become an important part of the event.

Jenn Rugolo from Tamper Tantrum said: “We love the vibe at this event–this year, we’re taking advantage of Cup North’s adventurous audience and developing some exciting new programming just for them! We’ll have more details soon!”

Cup North are delighted to gain sign-ups from popular exhibitors this year including London-based Climpson & Sons, Allpress, Bristol based Cakesmiths and neighbours in the north Grumpy Mule and North Star Roasters. New exhibitors to watch out for in 2016 include Brewed By Hand and Ovenbird Coffee Roasters and chocolate specialists Doisy & Dam.

Visitors to Manchester Coffee Festival can expect to sample many different tasty and speciality coffees from around the globe; take part in hands-on workshops with a sustainability theme; learn how to make the perfect brew at home from industry professionals, and take the opportunity to meet the people behind your favourite coffee shops and coffee roasters.

Tickets to the event are now on sale via the Cup North website – available at an early bird price of £7 per day or £10 for a weekend pass for a limited period only. Why not hop on over to their website www.cupnorth.co.uk?
