Hey there, happy Boxing Day! As the year winds down to a close, it’s still OK to revel in festivities and stay in the Christmas spirit. I visited Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland last week and loved it, have you been? The crowds were chocca in the evenings, when twinkly lights were at their dazzling best.
This post is a departure from the norm; whereas my usual posts are text heavy, this one is image heavy. The photos are really beautiful, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them. Enjoy!

The Christmas pudding selection is one to die for. It took every ounce of will power to just snap a photo and walk away. 😉
More treats, this time chocolate covered cupcakes, with lush confectionary toppers including marshmallows, Terry’s Chocolate Orange and Kit Kat. What’s not to love?
Speaking of chocolate, here’s a fondue I just wanted to dive right into.
The heavenly aroma of freshly roasted chestnuts remains one of my favourite scents.
As far as autumnal fayre goes, you can’t beat a freshly roasted corn on the cob slathered in butter. You could even sprinkle said corn cobs with a range of seasoned sprinkles.
If you dig fudge, this one’s for you. What I love about Christmas markets is that people get really inventive. This lemon and lime confection looks great and sounds zingy!
There’s something very special about the word ‘candy’. This is candy heaven, replete with swirly lollipops and enough candy canes to make you want to weep with joy.
What if you can’t decide between a treat of marshmallow or chocolate? If you’re stuck (and no one would blame you), why not try one of these bad boys? Ladies and gents, boys and gals, I present to you, marshmallows dipped in chocolate. And they’re shaped like a Christmas tree. Win-win.
Nostalgia sweeps over me whenever I think of toffee apples. These cute festive offerings look very good and cheeky too. I love the thought of an upside down Santa, as if he’s just about to climb down a chimney. 🙂
Chocolate truffles on sticks are always good. Perfect for non-sticky fingers and pretty to look at too.
More candy heaven. I felt as I was taking a stroll through Willy Wonka’s factory.
For marble cookies and Bailey’s cookies, I’m certainly in the right place.
I’ve seen waffles (one of my favourite breakfast foods) on a plate, but never on a stick. The scent emanating from this stall was wonderful. I like my waffles with a glug of maple or golden syrup. How about you?
One needs a hit of savoury in between all that sweetness. This cheese stall hit the spot. I especially liked the Lancashire Poacher which was potent and crumbly.

I’m back in Nottingham tomorrow. Although seeing the empty square, sans stalls will fill me with a sense of sadness, I cannot wait for the new year. 2017 is going to be great!
