Tried & Tested is a new British TV show currently in the commissioning stage with interest from broadcasters in the UK and around the world. In just 4 weeks, the show has found some incredible new food innovations from around the world to feature on the show’s pilot and now takes that one step further by organising “The Global Food Innovation Tour”.

The adventurous and exciting aim is to visit 8 countries, 8 cities in just 8 days, to discover new and exciting food trends, new products and innovation in some of the world’s most creative Culinary Cities.

Andrew Mellon, the show’s Executive Producer, has been tasked with the job. Mellon, 49, a private chef for 25 years, entrepreneur and author, is a seasoned traveller with 3 million plus miles under his belt.

He is ready for the challenge and excited to be meeting some of the culinary world’s creatives in cities across the globe in this fast-paced tour. Mellon will spend 24 hours in some cities and as little as 4 hours in others. He is expected to arrive back in the UK with an incredible understanding of new food trends, with an array of new products and culinary innovation to be featured on the TV show in 2018.

The eight cities on the tour are London, Seoul, Tokyo, Brisbane, Auckland, Santiago, Miami and Grenada. Mellon is flying with the One World Alliance on an “Around the World Ticket” booked just 10 days before departure for a staggering low £3,100 last minute fare.

Can Mellon survive the journey in Economy with 28,100 miles to cover in the 8 days? How will he cope with 5 nights in the air? Will the airlines take pity and look after him?

All will be revealed very soon. Mellon’s journey can be followed hour by hour on social media on the following platforms;

Mellon and the tour will be supported by a team in the UK including a 24-hour press office. Filming will be taking place in each city for the show. The Tour launches on Wednesday 6th December at T5 at London’s Heathrow as Mellon boards a British Airways plane bound for Seoul and embarks on this epic journey.
