On Wednesday 11th July, Manchester House will host an Evening of Adventurous Distillation and Dining with award-winning artisan producers Manchester Gin.
With news of gin being the nation’s most popular spirit beating whisky and vodka*, it is time to appreciate the special nature of this quintessentially British spirit. What better way to educate oneself, than to spend an evening immersed in gin and gin-paired fine dining?
Guests are being invited to take control of their taste buds and ignite their passion for rare liquors by taking part in an adventure of distillation at award-winning restaurant Manchester House.
Gin aficionados and discerning drinkers will embrace the atmosphere and lose themselves in an immersive gin experience including a ‘blind botanicals’ game, an intimate ‘meet the distiller’ session and finally a flavour-pairing tutorial to explore the depth of relationship between your chosen tipple and every course served. This unique exploration of artisan spirits will be hosted by the restaurant’s gutsy new Head Chef Nathanial Tofan and recent winners at the San Francisco Spirit Awards, Manchester Gin.
A sophisticated three course dinner will then be served with intuitively paired drinks, followed by an informative talk from the master gin makers about the history of this wonderful spirit and the distillation process. After dinner, a team of expert mixologists will create the perfect serve of Manchester Gin on the Chef’s Table for guests to enjoy outside on the heated terrace.
Honorary Mancunians Jen Wiggins and Seb Heeley have created a modern spirit in the award-winning Manchester Gin, with hand-foraged orange, lemon and Northern favourites Dandelion & Burdock. Its unique fusion of flavours will be perfectly matched to the culinary combinations created by Nathanial Tofan on the night, with his constantly evolving ingredients list dictated by the British seasons.
There from inception in 2013 and with four years as Aiden Byrne’s right-hand man, Nathanial Tofan has certainly earned his stripes at Manchester House showing himself to be ahead of his game and ready to shine as he was fast-tracked to Head Chef at the restaurant in September 2017.
Nat brings an incredible energy and an unprecedented level of excellence to the kitchen at this iconic location, creating a menu that is playful and relaxed with fuss-free descriptions and dishes that are full of passion and flair. His star is rising as he takes Manchester House to even headier heights with a laid-back manner and brave, innovative dishes that are perfectly executed for a modern menu.
The Gin Dinner will take place on Wednesday, 11th July. For more information or to book a place, visit www.manchesterhouse.uk.com or call 0161 8352557 now.
