Bundobust, the Koffee Pot, Barburrito, Northern Soul Grilled Cheese and the Alchemist have partnered with Uber as it launches its food delivery service UberEats in Manchester today.

Following its UK launch in London last year, the company has chosen Manchester as its second city to launch the service, offering delivery of food and drink from more than 100 local restaurants.

Operating with bicycles and mopeds, the service will operate seven days a week 11am-11pm in central Manchester, including the Northern Quarter and West Didsbury, with plans to expand its zones in the coming months.

Customers order dishes on the app or via website ubereats.com, and can then watch their food arrive in real-time via a live map. As well as aiming to deliver in 30 minutes, there is also no minimum order size.

Matthew Proust, Manchester’s general manager at UberEats, said: “Manchester’s culinary scene is thriving at the moment but until now, you had to visit the restaurant to experience the food and drink. With UberEats, Mancunian foodies can enjoy dishes from eateries that wouldn’t normally deliver, allowing them to relish restaurant-worthy food in the comfort of their own homes.”

Simon Potts, managing director at The Alchemist, said: “We’re excited to be one of the first bar and restaurants in Manchester to partner with UberEats following its success in London.”

Mark Husak, co-founder of Bundobust, added: “We’re over the moon to be partnering with UberEats. The people of Manchester will be able to order the most authentic Indian Street food this side of Mumbai to their homes and offices.

As a new business in the city centre we are always looking at ways of spreading the good word of Bundobust and with UberEats, we are confident we can reach out to a whole new customer base.”
