After my engagement on 1 January 2020, the ecstatic me couldn’t wait to plan my wedding. Then the pandemic struck, and wedding plans were put on hold. I had seen heartbroken friends re-book and endlessly reschedule their big days, and I decided that I would only start booking in dates and suppliers once I could see an end in sight.

As restrictions continue to be eased, various sectors including wedding and hospitality are cautiously operating with a ‘business back to normal’ mindset. I am so very pleased to see businesses reopen and welcome patrons and customers back.

I now feel confident that a wedding in 2022 will happen sans delays, which is why I have now started to put the wheels in motion to plan for my wedding. (Woohoo.)

If you’re a wedding supplier (wedding caterer, wedding venue, wedding cake maker, wedding florist, wedding dress maker, anything wedding related), then please do get in touch. I would love to feature you in the wedding section on my blog.

To kick things off, here is a dress that has caught my eye. Isn’t it gorgeous? It is the elegantly named Demitra from Badgley Mischka, and what I love about this dress is the intricate lace and romantic silhouette. I have always loved ivory and blush tones, in fact, around 50% of my wardrobe falls into this category, which is why I’d feel so comfortable wearing a dress like this.

I vacillate between having a full-on-wedding-dress–plus-giant-train, to something that is understated and elegant. I guess we’ll find out on the big day, what I eventually go for. 😊

We’ve got our eye on Shottle Hall as a venue, I’m just in the middle of firming up dates and ironing out a few other details.

What are your priorities? For me, it has to be cake, food and dress, in that order too. I am privileged to have reviewed numerous restaurants, which is why I have a fairly good idea of the sort of food and drink I’d like on the wedding day.

Are you getting married? First of all, congratulations! Secondly, welcome to the exhilarating, sometimes daunting world of wedding planning. Stay tuned for more wedding related posts, I cannot wait to share news about brilliant wedding suppliers and tips. Perhaps you have advice on wedding planning that you’d like to impart, or a wedding supplier that made your big day extra special? I would love to know and give your ace suppliers a shout-out too.
