What a Monday – World Book Night ahoy!

Hello guys! How have you been? So another week has flown by, but it’s not just any old Monday. No siree, it’s a triple whammy! Today’s auspicious date marks St George’s Day, Shakespeare’s birthday (Happy Birthday Shakespeare!) and last but not least, it’s also World Book Night.

I have been chosen as a Book Giver and am preparing to dish out free copies of Emma Donoghue’s wonderful Room. I fell in love with the book last year and cannot wait to connect with readers later this afternoon. The narrative is ultra engaging and the plot, astoundingly poignant. World Book Night is such a fantastic initiative to get people to read more. The powers that be behind WBN have enlisted the help of an army of thousand Book Givers (moi included), as well as schools and libraries around the country. Libraries have a tonne of stuff happening, it’s a real pity that the event at Bolton Library was cancelled. Still, I get to meet a bunch of you lot out there. So, if you’re near the Waterstone’s in Bolton at 3:30pm today and would like a free copy of Room (yes FREE guys), do pop by. Even if you’re passing through and don’t want a book, come by and say hello. I love chatting with readers, writers and everyone else in between. Must dash, I’ve already packed my cargo of 24 books and will be heading into town shortly. See you then and have a great day guys!
