Wild and Game, a new not-for-profit food business, aims to turn the UK into a nation of year-round game eaters by taking much-loved recipes and recreating them with game as a key ingredient.

Products include high quality pies, sausage rolls, sausages, pâtés and more. Raw meat is also available for cooking your own game dishes.

Wild and Game’s products are available from the company’s website, www.wildandgame.co.uk, with the company aiming to supply pubs, restaurants, small shops and the general public.

“We’re keen to make game more prominent in the UK diet,” says Steven Frampton, who runs the business with Michael Cannon. “It’s low fat, free range and works beautifully in a host of recipes where ingredients such as beef or chicken might typically be used. We would love to see game such as pheasant eventually becoming a common sight in UK supermarkets.”

Wild and Game products are supplied conveniently frozen and are therefore available all year round, not just in the game season.

Wild and Game’s product range is growing rapidly: products currently in development include pheasant lasagne, burgers and pâté, and game ready meals.

The company’s co-founders are working with a development chef to create great recipes. Steven added: “We’re very excited about the products we’re going to be releasing over the coming months. We’re not doing this for profit, but because we genuinely want to put game more fully  on the nation’s menus.

“The business grew out of trying to find ways to make game more attractive to people by putting it into products that they already know and love. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to buy and eat game.”
